Never in a million years would I have thought that shoes would be what I fell in love with for my art.
How strange that is in it self since I am a girl and girls have this on going love affair with shoes. I always liked shoes but I am not one that has tons or ever spent more than $50 on a pair... oh except that one time when I bought "fake" Uggs in "the city" (San Fransisco)
I do adore doing shoes custom to what people want. It's neat to try and come up with something they will like. It's nerve racking though to try and make sure it comes out well. My styles tend to change and do their own thing sometimes. One day I might paint with a lot of tiny details then the next it might look really flat and abstract.
I am really enjoying just making whatever happens with out any idea at all. I added the Patch Purse shoes to my portfolio and they were just an after thought. I just was staring at my purse that everyone always asks to buy off me (weird..."No umm..sorry I can't see my self just giving you my purse stranger") giggle.
I figured if everyone liked the purse maybe a pair of shoes would be cool.
Then there is the Neon Birdy shoes...
I don't know where these came from. The only way I can explain these is that my favorite color as a child was LIME GREEN! I also had a love for tiny birds. The shoes had pink details on them so I just went with it. I wanted them to be not to girly though so I added the dark black trees as a moody feeling to them.
Well I can't wait to get the other 2 done.
The Fairy Tale ones are taking FOREVER!!!
Then mine...might get re-done. After I started painting them I realized I was painting them BLUE and I already have a pair of BLUE painted shoes...silly women! oh well...we shall see what happens.
